Gov. Kernan on Campus

Politics, School No Comments »

Indiana Governor Joe Kernan will be at the Bloomington campus of Ivy Tech State College tomorrow afternoon!

Without asking her about it, I’m 99.9% convinced that this is all Megan’s doing, I’m guessing she probably invited him on behalf of the College Democrats.

Anyways, pretty cool… will try to get some pictures, if I can find my digital camera (haven’t seen it for months!).

I’d seen this a long while back but had forgotten about it…

Head on over to the Google search engine and type “Miserable Failure” into the search box. Click the “Search” button and look at the first page that shows up in the results.

Of, if you’re lazy, just click Miserable Failure to be automatically taken to the search results.

Interesting Quote

Politics No Comments »

I came across the following quote on an acquaintance’s web site a while back and meant to share it, but never did:

“Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.” — Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

Ironic how fitting it is, even after nearly 60 years…
